Surf Action Blog
I missed the programme myself but this morning on BBC1 Surf Action appeared on Saints and Scroungers. Those of you who kindly donated after seeing this thank you so much. We also had offers of help and fund raising so thank you all.
This year is looking like it will be a huge year for us. Our Friday clinics continue to run and always will. We meet every Friday at 11.30am at Sunset Surf Cafe, Gwithian Towans, Nr Hayle. If anyone knows of any ex-service and they might be interested in meeting please come along, its very informal and you DON'T have to go surfing plus the guys there make a lovely coffee and a huge breakfast.
We have the Not Forgotten Association coming back down for some surfing with Rosie Thompson and Swifty (pictured) leading the charge. The lads at Haslar company will be back to Polzeath for Operation Cornish Wave 3. A huge thanks to Anthony Lambert organising this once more.
We are also planning to hold four more residentials and those dates will be posted here ASAP. These will be smaller groups but follow the model we used in December at Prussia Cove. If anyone is interested in a place please email me on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as the places will be limited due to accommodation.
A big thankyou to C-Skins wetsuits for supporting us again this year and will hopefully soon have some new flags and stickers from the guys. C-Skins are great wetsuits and its really nice to be supported by a Cornish Company. On the note of support we are now kindly supported by Slide 65 Surfboards and SEABASE. We appoached the guys Rob Wright and Pani Bundi and both agreed to shape and glass two traditional longboards that we shall be surfing but also promoting. Rob makes great Surfboards and the amazing glassing is done at SEABASE by Nick Williams. SEABASE have offered 20% discount to all members of Surf Action. This membership will be up and running on the site by the end of the month so go to the Combat Surfers page and check for details shortly.
At the end of February myself and Rich are on a mission up to the North east to meet for a weeks coaching with the Army Surf team and promote our project up there. We hoping to vastly improve the chances of the Army Surf Team this year in the tri services competition and have a secret weapon to meet other organisations and sample the delightful North Sea and classic waves they have there.
Any news will be updated here and any kind people out there wanting to raise money for us please email me on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
